INASCON 2011 invites you to Denmark from the 18th to the 21st of August!

The fifth International Nanoscience Student Conference will be held in Denmark from the 18th to the 21st of August 2011. The conference will be held at Fuglsøcentret located in one of the most beautiful parts of Denmark.

INASCON started in 2007 in Denmark, and from the beginning the objective has been to gather students from all over Europe to offer a unique opportunity of networking and promoting the career of young scientists. Student participation will once again be the focus of INASCON 2011, and we will put together a strong scientific program with talks from leading nano scientist from around the world to encourage scientific discussion and collaboration. We are working hard to prepare a great program for INASCON 2011. We hope that we will be able to accommodate 80 nanoscience students from all over Europe to create yet another successful INASCON. We will keep this website updated with all the news regarding INASCON 2011 and you are more than welcome to contacts us if you have any questions or ideas for INASCON 2011 at inascon@inascon.eu. Final program for INASCON 2011 TUESDAY 9 AUGUST 2011 The final program for INASCON 2011 has been published. Please go to the program page to see it.

The final invited speaker - Liv Hornkær TUESDAY 9 AUGUST 2011 Liv Hornekær from the Surface Dynamics Group at Aarhus University is the final confirmed speaker for INASCON 2011. Liv Hornekær will give a talk about how to control the electronic properties of graphene by chemical functionalization.

Dr Yi-Yeoun Kim will be speaking at INASCON 2011 MONDAY 3 JULY 2011 Dr Yi-Yeoun Kim is working in the fields of biomineralisation, controls of crystal nucleation and growth and functional organic/inorganic hybrid materials. See more about the speakers at INASCON 2011 here.

Registration and payment deadline extended to the 8th of July. FRIDAY 17 JUNE 2011 It will be possible to register and pay for participation until the 8th of July - in case the conference do not get fully booked. Please register here and you will receive further information regarding payment of the conference fee.

Research Scientist Stig Helveg from Haldor Topsøe will give a talk at INASCON 2011 SUNDAY 4 JUNE 2011 The Danish company Haldor Topsøe is working on improving catalysis in a large variety of products.  Stig Helveg will give a talk at INASCON 2011 about his research for Haldor Topsøe.

Dr Mathis Riehle will be speaking at INASCON 2011 THURSDAY 25 MARCH 2011 Dr Mathis Riehle is the Director of the Centre for Cell Engineering at the University of Glasgow. Dr Mathis Riehle has accepted to give a talk at this years INASCON in Denmark. Your can read more about the Centre for Cell Engineering here.

Second speaker MONDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2011 Dr Richard Douthwaite will give a talk at INASCON 2011. His primary research area is photocatalysis and solar cells. You can find the complete updated list of speakers at INASCON 2011 here.

First speaker confirmed MONDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2011 Jean Pinson was one of the pioneers in developing the method of electrografting of diazonium salts on conducting and semiconducting surfaces. Jean Pinson will give a talk at INASCON 2011 introducing the concept of surface modifications with focus on electrografting of diazonium salts and industrial applications of the method.

Registration for INASCON 2011 is now open SATURDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2011 It is now possible to register for participation in INASCON 2011. There are only a limited number of seats at the conference, so please register as soon as possible to ensure your participation.

New website for INASCON TUESDAY 19 OKTOBER 2010 We have launched a new website for INASCON. Hopefully the new website will serve as a flexible platform for this year and future INASCON conferences. Any comments and suggestions are most welcome.
